78 years ago, in March,1943, Ben Hecht organized and wrote the pageant, We Will Never Die. He was frustrated with American policy and Hollywood’s lack of action over the Jews of Europe. The pageant was performed at Madison Square Garden for two shows in front of 40,000 people. We Will Never Die was produced by Billy Rose and Ernst Lubitsch. The composer Kurt Weill added music and Moss Hart did the staging. After Madison Square Garden, traveled nationwide, including a performance at the Hollywood Bowl.
